Symbol and Soul is a celebration of the distinctive artistic vision of Marinela Rusu, an accomplished Romanian artist from Iaşi whose creative journey brings together visual art, psychology, culture, and a deep exploration of the human experience.
With an academic background in both Psychology and Visual Arts, and a PhD in Psychology, Marinela Rusu approaches art with a particularly sensitive awareness of the inner world. Her works move beyond purely visual expression, using colour, form, symbolism, and emotion to explore the many dimensions of human thought and feeling.
Her artistic career spans decades and includes more than 30 solo exhibitions and over 80 collective exhibitions in Romania and internationally. Her works have been presented in countries including Greece, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, South Korea, and the Republic of Moldova, establishing her as an artist with a strong international presence.
Rusu is a member of several artistic organizations, including the Union of Plastic Artists of Romania, and has actively contributed to international artistic collaboration, particularly between Romania and Greece. She has also played an important role in coordinating collective art projects and exhibitions that promote friendship, peace, cultural dialogue, and artistic exchange.
Her achievements have been recognized through numerous national and international awards and distinctions, including major prizes at international contemporary art competitions in Italy and the Netherlands. In 2026, she received the Diploma of Honor and Medal from Art Genesis, Athens, Greece, in recognition of her contribution to the promotion of art and culture.
Her paintings have appeared in international art publications and volumes, further reflecting the breadth of her artistic activity.
Symbol and Soul invites viewers to enter a world where symbols become carriers of emotion, colour becomes a language of the inner self, and artistic expression becomes a bridge between the visible and invisible.
Through this solo online exhibition, Chakra V Art Gallery presents an intimate encounter with Marinela Rusu's artistic universe—one shaped by observation, imagination, psychological insight, cultural experience, and a lifelong commitment to art.
We invite art lovers and collectors around the world to explore Symbol and Soul and discover the depth, emotion, and symbolism within Marinela Rusu's work.
